Postdoctoral Training

Training the future scientific leaders through postdoctoral programs is an integral aspect of the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB. The various laboratories of the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center offer training opportunities for postgraduate scientists (biomedical sciences) and for clinician-scientists.

Our postdoctoral fellows gain the training, experience, skills, and credentials by training with leading scientists and physician-scientists engaged in cancer research. As an NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center offers access to cutting-edge core facilities in a very collaborative, scientifically enriching environment.

There are various seminars, retreats, research-in-progress seminar series, programmatic and thematic meetings that form additional key components of postdoctoral training at the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center.

The O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center faculty support postdoctoral Ph.D. and M.D. physician-scientists through research grant funding and/or NIH-sponsored institutional training and fellowship programs.

Our Office of Postdoctoral Education offers various training opportunities that set our fellows on the trajectory to achieve individual goals.
